David Carlton Wuterich, “Woody,” age 78, loving husband of 54 years to Rosemarie Zagorski Wuterich, passed away on January 7, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden. He was born in Meriden on January 22, 1942, the son of the late Carlton and Gladys Johnson Wuterich. Besides his wife Rosemarie, he is survived by his daughter Maria Clap and her husband Kenneth of Southington, son Frank Wuterich and his wife Christina of Anaheim Hills, CA, and granddaughters Kendra Hill, Makena Clap, and Melody, Talia, and Jadabel Wuterich. He was predeceased by his daughter Rebecca Lynn Wuterich, and in-laws Sylvester and Elinor Whipple Zagorski. After graduating from Platt High School, David went on to study at the Culinary Institute and Greenbrier Hotel Culinary Program. He continued working as a chef for his entire career and retired as Chef Instructor for the State of CT, Bristol Vocational Technical School. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, drawing, and spending time with his family, especially his beloved granddaughters.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of David’s family.

  5. We are so sad to hear of Woodys’ passing. He was such a nice neighbor to have for 15 years. Enjoyed many outdoor conversations about our lawns. He will truly be missed.
