David Morse, 76, loving husband of Bette Bergman Morse of Devonshire Rd. Wolcott, passed away Feb. 19, in the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center of Wallingford after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven January 16, 1934 son of the late Donald E. and Clara Austin Morse and was a licensed arborist. He was employed with the former Walgren Tree Service, Cheshire Tree Service. Dave also was a carpenter and logsmith, having built several log homes. He was a former member of the Stony Creek Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Dept. Father of Jenifer and her husband Steven Niezgorski of Danbury , Jason and his wife Caroline Morse of Naugatuck , and the late David 'Dax' McIntier. Brother of Elsie Smith of Hamden , Myra Fezza of Northford, Claire Stubbs and Judith DiLeone both of Hamden . Dave is also survived by two beloved granddaughters Evelyn and Eloise Morse, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Tuesday Feb. 23, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service and interment on Wednesday will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the International Wolf Center, 1396 Highway 169, Ely, MN. 55731.
