Wallingford - Deupree Hunnicutt, Jr., 90, of 3307 Ashlar Village died Wed., March 16, 2005 at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Jean Butler Hunnicutt. Born in Athens, GA, August 1, 1914 a son of the late Deupree and Gabriella Lanier Hunnicutt, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia BA and LLB degrees Phi Beta Kappa. He was a State Representative in Clark County, GA from 1938 to 1942 when he entered the Army and served in the U.S. Intelligence. He had been the Chairman of the Democratic Committee in Harrison, NY. He worked as an Attorney. After Mr. Hunnicutt's passing a family scrapbook was accidentally discovered. The scrapbook was compiled by an aunt. In this album there were numerous awards received by Mr. Hunnicutt for public service, scholastic, athletic and government excellence. Neither the scrapbook nor any of Mr. Hunnicutt's honors were mentioned to his immediate family. One notice he received was a ''Most'' of list from his High School Senior Graduating Class in 1931. He was voted ''Most'' Versatile, Dependable, Conscientious, Courteous, and Gentlemanly, ''Best'' Sport, Most Sincere and Most Modest. Mr. Hunnicutt was all of this and more. He is survived by three sons, Allan Hunnicutt of Hong Kong, Keith and his wife, Marie Louise Hunnicutt of Branford, CT, Michael Hunnicutt of White Plains, NY, two grandchildren, Mary Allison Hunnicutt and Kristoffer Hunnicutt both of Branford, CT. Memorial service Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at the Chapel at the Masonic Health Care Center at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Ann Baltzell will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at In Memoriam Cemetery. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT.
