Donald C. Perry, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2008 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Perry, born in New Haven on February 25, 1919, son of the late Oscar E. Perry and Emily L. Gallagher Perry, was a resident of Hamden all his life. He was a member of the United States Army Air Corps, the 8th Air Force, in World War II. He was employed by the United Illuminating Company for forty-two years. Donald was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy E. Perry. He is survived by four loving children; Barbara Nelson and her husband, David of Hamden, Donald Perry and his wife, Joan of Cheshire, Deborah Massey of Branford, Nancy Treichel and her husband, Joseph of Hamden, as well as fourteen grandchildren; John Battick and his wife, Beth, and Mike Battick, Rebecca Nelson Ferrucci and her husband, John, and Steven, David, Erik, and Ryan Nelson, Mark, Daniel, and Lauren Perry, Jason Massey, Joseph Treichel and his wife, Ashley, and Amy and Megan Treichel, and five great- grandchildren; John, Alyssa, and Zoe Battick, Jason Massey Jr., and Luca Ferrucci. Funeral service will be private. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, in care of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
