Donald W. Hass, Sr. Meriden-Donald Walter Hass, Sr., 72, husband of Angela Caley Hass of 122 Charles St., passed away in Hartford Hospital, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001. He was born in Meriden March 3, 1929, a son of the late Walter W. and Viola Schnabel Hass and had lived in Meriden all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hass was employed at Northeast Utilities as an A. E. Q. Technician for 26 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Masons and Shriners and sang with the Ariens Singing Group. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball with several area teams. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Darlene and Scott Allen of Meriden, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur and Melissa Hass of Meriden and Donald W. Hass, Jr. of Meriden, a sister, Dorothy Shoneck of Meriden and five grandchildren; Nicole, Cheryl, Caley, Dakota and Matthew. He was predeceased by a sister, Vernal Mauri. Funeral procession will leave BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, Saturday morning at 10:30 for a service at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden at 11 o'clock. Friends may call Friday (today) at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
