Doreen E. Shaw
Doreen E. Shaw, of Vantage Rd., Hamden, wife of 63 years to Harold E. Shaw passed away Friday, April 7, 2006 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was born in Barnett, Missouri a daughter of the late Dr. Willie and Clara Ethel Noyes Wheat and had resided in Hamden since 1946. During WW II she worked at the War Dept. in Wash. DC and later was employed as a secretary with the Hamden Board of Education for 10 years until 1975. Mrs. Shaw was a former member of Alice Chap. # 76 O.E.S. of Hamden and she enjoyed word puzzles, reading and jigsaw puzzles. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Beverly E. Shaw of Hamden, a son, Rodney I. Shaw, and 3 granddaughters, Heather C., Ashley L. and Amanda E. Shaw all of Guilford. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Wendell and Gerald Wheat. Interment in Centerville Cemetery will be private. A memorial service will be held in June. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN. Bev, I am so sorry to learn of your very sudden loss of your beloved mother. Everything you ever told me about her let me know what a wonderful person she was, and how much you loved her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
