Doris D. Garcia, age 87, of Hamden, passed away at her home on October 8, 2014. Doris was the widow of Ernest Garcia. Born in New Haven on March 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clarence & Lena Brown Dawson. Doris is survived by her daughter Carol Esposito with whom she lived with; her granddaughter Tara Miller & her husband Michael of Hamden; her grandson Marc Esposito & his wife Kristen of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Doris was also predeceased by her daughter, Nancy J. Diaz-Taylor and her son in-law Robert 'Bobby' Esposito. A lifelong resident of Hamden she was employed many years for SNET Co, retiring as a Payroll Supervisor and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, at 9:30 AM from BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden followed by her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the Blessed Sacrament Church, Circular Ave, Hamden. Burial will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home on Saturday Morning from 8:00 to 9:30 AM.

  2. Carol, You don’t know me. I didn’t work for your Mother, but was always with the crazies that did, back in the 60’s and 70’s. Some of us have passed on, but her name would come up every so often. We worked for some tough women. Your Mother was not like them she was the best and loved us all as we loved her. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
