Doris Isabelle Monson

Doris D. Monson, age 90, passed away at her home on November 19, 2016. She was the widow of James D. Monson Sr. Doris was born in Huntington, Vermont on February 26, 1926. She was the daughter of the late George & Isabelle (Bristol) Dwire. Doris is survived by her son James D. Monson, Jr with whom she resided; her daughter Judy Divis of Bellevue, Nebraska; her step-children Mary Borrelli & Margo Monson both of North Haven and Robert Monson of Palm Bay, FL and her grandchildren Ben Divis, Connie Divis & Emily Divis. She was predeceased by her sisters Beatrice Parker, Fern Whittemore & her brother Ellsworth Dwire. Doris was a resident of Hamden since 1961. She worked as a Medical Technician for Dr. Hart, and Dr. Haley, and as a Lab Technician at the Backus Hospital and West Haven Veteran Medical Center. Doris was an active member of Spring Glen Church for over 35 years. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and may attend her Funeral Service on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Spring Glen Church, 1825 Whitney Ave. Burial will be private.
