Doris Smith Mills, 93, of 216 Morgan Ln., West Haven died Jan. 18, 2005 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the widow of J. Gordon Mills. She was born in New Haven, Jan. 3, 1912, a daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel Parsons Smith. She was a teacher at Edgar C. Stiles School in West Haven for 15 years. She was a 79 year member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven and was a member of the Milford Grange #73 for over 50 years. She also served as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center for 25 years. She is survived by a son, Richard G. Mills of West Haven, nieces, Ann Ross, Elaine Pilkowicz, Marion Sorel, Barbara Lindsey, Susan Wing and nephews, Ray Wing, Bruce Boren, Thomas, Russell and Charles Mills. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Smith. Funeral service Sat., Jan. 22, 2005 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of West Haven. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, Book of Remembrance, 1 Church St., West Haven, CT 06516. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven.
