Dorothy “Dot” Grabowski, 87, formerly of New Hyde Park, NY passed away quietly on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Masonicare Hospice in Wallingford CT. She and her husband Rudolph “Rudy” moved to Woodbridge, CT in 2008, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Geriann and Paul White, and twin grandchildren Jake and Sydney. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Gary Charbonneau, and grandchildren Andrew and Corinne of East Northport, NY. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late John and Bessie (Sendzik) Kaleta, where she attended Girl’s Commercial High School. After graduation she went to work for the American Express Company in Lower Manhattan. She made many lifelong friends while working there and traveled with them for many years before getting married. Although most of them moved apart with their families they always stayed in touch. She lost the love of her life, her beloved Rudy in 2010. Now they will be reunited together again. Friends may visit with Dorothy’s family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT on Tuesday morning from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Her prayer service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, followed by her entombment in All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, contribution in her memory may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, Masonicare, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford CT 06492 Attn: Hospice Gift.

  1. I don’t know if you remember me but we met you all at Woodloch. We played cards with your parents and the Schneider’s. I was saddened to hear about your mothers passing. She was such a happy person. I will keep her in my prayers.
