MERIDEN - Dorothy Louise Brunet, 78, beloved wife of Harold ''Harry'' P. Brunet of 43 North Spring St., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in MidState Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Hartford, CT on Sept. 19, 1922, a daughter of the late John J. and Grace Keeney MacDonald and had lived in Meriden most of her life. She was employed by the Kuhn Center of Meriden as a van driver for six years, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Brunet was a member of the First Assembly of God of Meriden and the A.F. of M. Local #55 Musicians Union. She and her husband traveled as musicians as the ''Brunay's'' for 7 years, and while performing in Florida, a Daytona newspaper described her as ''The Peggy Lee of Daytona''. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Anthony G. Canalia of Meriden; a sister, Mary Anziano of Meriden; two brothers, John MacDonald of Terryville, CT and Richard MacDonald of Wallingford; and a grandson, Anthony G. Canalia, Jr. of Meriden. She was predeceased by three sisters, Vivian MacDonald, Ruth Kelly and Grace Campbell. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Thomas Fegler will officiate. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
