Dorothy M. Quarterman, 94, beloved wife of the late Louis J. Quarterman, passed away on December 3, 2021. Born in New Haven on June 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Elizabeth Reuter Mott. She is survived by her stepchildren, Jay Quarterman and his wife Mary of Seattle, WA, Linda Quarterman of Eldora, CO, Jennifer Quarterman and her husband Denny Hobson of Flagstaff, AZ, and Ned Quarterman and his wife Christina of McHenry, IL, 6 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren, along with several cousins.
For over 30 years, Dorothy was employed by the SNET Co. as an Administrative Assistant. An avid traveler, Dorothy loved seeing sights from all around the world. It was on a trip to London, England where she met her late husband Louis, and together they enjoyed countless vacations to destinations across the globe, including Asia, South America, and China. Among her favorite memories was their visit to Egypt.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9th in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.

  1. Denny and I had many, many great times with my Dad and Dot. We took trips together, and really enjoyed each other’s company, and laughter…on one of our trips Dot and I were in the backseat of my Dad’s big Town Car, and she and I won the discussion. Dot licked her finger, put it up in the air, and said ” That’s one for the girls, haha! ” I will have many memories. Rest in Peace Dotty. Love Jenny and Denny
