Dorothy Mae Bruenn
Southington - Dorothy Mae (Catlin) Bruenn, 98, passed away on Sunday, November 23 at the Southington Care Center. She was the wife of the late John Bruenn. Dorothy was born in Winsted, CT on June 27, 1910 a daughter of the late Dillon and Edith (Warren) Catlin. She spent her entire adult life in the Meriden area, retiring from S.S.Kresge Co. and was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Southington Care Center, for their compassionate care during Dorothy's two year stay at the center. She is survived by her son, Roger Bruenn and his wife Renee of Southington and a sister Helen Schultz of Indiana. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Debbie Messina, Bonnie Langille, Cheri Perry, Robyn Waller, Cynthia Jones, Matthew Bruenn and Katherine Reeves, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Edna Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by her husband, a daughter Nancy Waller and seven brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11:00am at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. James Stoltenberg will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Bee St., Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11am, prior to the service.
