Dorothy R. Murphy

MERIDEN - Dorothy R. Murphy, 87, formerly of 80 Hanover St., died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Maple View Manor in Rocky Hill. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Murphy. Born in Meriden April 23, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vera Coats Reynolds. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford and was employed as a nurse at Meriden Nursing Home. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and was a frequent traveler and a Vista volunteer. She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Iwanski of Durham and Rosemary Glorioso of South Meriden; two sons, Terence J. Murphy of South Meriden and Alan B. Murphy of Middletown; two brothers, Lawrence Reynolds and Charles Reynolds, both of Spring Hill, FL; a sister, Sheila Smith of Kentucky; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Mausoleum in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Roy will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
