Dorothy Sabol Sniffen Chase

Meriden - Dorothy Marie (Sabol Sniffen) Chase, 87, formerly of 22 Marlson Road, died Tuesday, July 9, at Elim Park in Cheshire following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of F. Luin Chase Sr. She was born in Hartford CT, Dec. 11, 1914 daughter of the late Joseph and Bertina Coombs Sabol. The Sniffen family from Bridgeport adopted her. She moved to Meriden in 1932 and worked for the International Silver Company and then at the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital for forty years as an L.P.N. She joined the Swedish Baptist Church, later the Park Ave. Baptist Church and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for forty years and served as a Deaconess. She was a pianist and an organist, a prolific knitter and she did ceramic work. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Arla and Richard Brandl of Meriden, Dorene Boisonneault of Meriden, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Franklin Luin and Joyce Chase Jr. of Meriden, Robert M. Chase of Meriden, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Borkowski and a brother, Joseph Sabol. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13 at 4 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 262 Bee St., Meriden. The Rev. Joel Rissinger will officiate. Burial at Walnut Grove will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the D. and L.   1. Bob, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. We have worked together for almost 30 years and I can still remember like it was yesterday when your mom worked with us at the old Meriden-Wallingford Hospital. She always kept us on out toes and was a joy to work with. There was never a dull moment when Dottie was around. May She Rest In Peace!
