November 13, 1942- Sunrise March 18, 2012- 12:40 PM- Sunset Mr. Douglas Jay Pouncey, Sr., known to many as Buddy and Cobra, was the son of Mrs. Dorothy Richardson, formerly of 40 Forest Rd, Wallingford now residing at the Green Village Nursing home in Wallingford and the late Mr. Joseph Pouncey. He is predeceased in death by his brothers, Ronald and Jerome Pouncey; daughter, Leshea Pouncey; son, Damien Blandina. Besides his mother, he leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Margie Bush-Pouncey; daughters, Monique Pouncey of New Haven, Colette Stephen (John) of Brooklyn, NY, Chantel Pouncey Simmons (Lynandro) of Columbia, SC, Danielle Ware (Turean) of Allen Town, PA, Jacqueline Bush, Charlotte, NC; sons, Kenneth Pouncey (Heather) of TX, Douglas Pouncey, Jr. (April) of New Haven, Kenneth Bush of New Haven; sisters, Charlette Toplay-Bird of Somerset, England, Elaine Pouncey of New Haven, Terez Murphy of Wallingford, Lea Oliver (Elliot) of CA; brothers, Richard Pouncey and Joseph Pouncey Jr, both of New Haven; sisters-in-law, Edith Pouncey of New Haven, Betty Worley- Roxbury of MA, Monique Dorsey (Dwight) of Mount Kisco, NY; aunts, Lorrine Fidalgo and Earnestine Murray both of New Haven; twenty-one grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Buddy also leaves his very special friends, Joe Nelson & Linda McCray and a host of nieces & nephews and family & friends. Friends may visit at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Thursday, March 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. and also visit on Friday from 11 a.m. prior to His Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
