Dr. James 'Jim' McAdams Williams

Dr. James 'Jim' McAdams Williams, 84, of Hamden and Hobe Sound, Florida died Sunday, September 13, 2015 after a long illness. Jim was born and raised in Shawnee, Oklahoma, son of the late Mr. Alton and Dr. Alpha Williams. Jim attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Northwestern Medical School in Chicago, Illinois in 1954. Jim interned at the Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Jim established a private psychiatric practice in New Haven spanning 50 years. He is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 61 years, and their daughters; Laura (John), Karen, and Julia (David), eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his brother, Noel, of San Francisco, California. Jim is also missed by Bobby, his beloved rescue dog from Florida. Dear Betty, I am so sorry to read of Jim’s passing. I hope you are as well as can be expected and I pray that you and Bobby are helping each other get through the tough days.
As you may have seen on this same website, my beloved Peter, for whom you worked so many years died on Sept. 2. Jim and Peter were almost exactly the same age. We shall both miss our men dearly. My best to your family, Betsy Demir
