Earl Leonard Bushnell, 84, of Prospect Terrace, Meriden, husband of the late Dorothy Bushnell, passed away December 16, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in New London June 22, 1922 to the late Irving and Addeline Caswell Bushnell. Earl leaves his daughters, Diane Hoff and her husband John of Meriden, Geri Kniskern and her husband Duane of Pine Bush, NY. Grandchildren Heidi Little and her husband Steve, Eric Zimmerman and his wife Monique. Great-grandchildren, Steven and Bradley Little, Cole Zimmerman and two step-grandchildren Joseph and Rachael Kniskern. Earl was very proud to have served with the Coast Guard during the war and had been an active member of the Destroyers-Escort Sailors Association along with the Meriden Arts and Crafts Association where he is a past President. He was also a loyal patron of Tom's Lunchen where he started off every morning. Earl had a love and passion for art. Much of his work can be seen throughout many homes and galleries. His work has touched many eyes and hearts and hopefully inspired others to do the same. Earl has left behind a legacy of friendship, strength, humor, and craftsmenship. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., on Wed, Dec 20th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tue. from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in Earl's name may be sent to the Meriden Arts and Crafts Association- Scholarship Fund, 53 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06450.
