Edgar O. Ethier
Edgar O. Ethier, age 84, of Hamden, loving husband of Nancy Redding Ethier, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018. Edgar faithfully served his country in the Army from 1952-54, mostly as an interpreter in southern France. He also attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating with a BA Degree in Economics. He then went on to work as a stockbroker for Fahnestock & Co. in their Waterbury office for many years until his retirement. He was an avid Notre Dame football, New York Yankees, and UCONN women’s basketball fan. Above all else he loved spending time with his family, especially his youngest grandsons Jackson and Dyer Steele, who gave him great joy these past years during his illness. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Masonicare who provided such wonderful and comforting care. Services will be privately held at the convenience of his family. Donations in Edgar’s memory may be made to The Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. We’re so sorry, Nancy, to hear about Ed. You guys had a good long life together, so cherish the memories. Even though we didn’t get to see you very often, we still have fond memories of when you came to Michigan for the Cleveland Cup a few years ago. Remember the words of Irving Berlin…..the song is over, but the melody lingers on..
Nancy I was so sorry to read of Ed’s passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
