Edmund J. Bogrette, Sr.
Edmund J. 'Ed' Bogrette, Sr., age 82, of Cheshire, passed away on July 6, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury with his family by his side. Born in Portland, Maine on December 16, 1935, he was a son of the late John H. Bogrette, Sr. & Kathryn L. (Cully) Bogrette. He was a prior resident of Wallingford and longtime former resident of Hamden. Ed was a printer for many years. He is survived by his wife Marie (Cusano) Bogrette; his sons, Donald Bogrette & his wife Mary Jane of Cheshire, Michael Bogrette & his wife Karen of Hamden, and Robert Bogrette of Southbury; grandchildren Colin, Briana, Tyler, Ryan, & Brandon Bogrette, and his brother John H. Bogrette Jr. & his wife Mary of Hershey, PA. Ed was predeceased by his son Edmund J. Bogrette, Jr. After his retirement Ed enjoyed traveling. He was an avid golfer and family man, always enjoying the time he spent with his sons and their families. Ed was a member of the Cheshire Exchange Club and New Haven Jaycees. He was a volunteer at the Cheshire Senior Center, and at the Wallingford Senior Center. Friends may visit with his family on Wednesday, July 11th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden prior to his Prayer Service, which will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association or a charity of your choice in Ed's honor.
