At his home, Nov. 14, 2002, Edward A. Kluck, 78, of 291 Broadway, Hamden, husband of Barbara Lowell Kluck, father of Nancy B. Kluck of Chester, CT, Judith K. Peters of Acton, MA, Joan K. Bub of Strykersville, NY and Peter E. Kluck of Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa and brother of Laddie K. Gorski of Atascadero, CA. Also survived by six grandchildren. Predeceased by an infant son, Edward A. Kluck, Jr. He was born in Shelton, CT, Oct. 25, 1924 son of the late Edward J. and Stepha Bernal Kluck. Served as a bomber pilot during WW II in the US Air Force and fought in several battles including New Guinea, Southern Philippines and the Western Pacific and received numerous medals and citations. He was a UCONN graduate and worked as a self-employed furrier. His memberships included Environment/2000: CT's Environmental Plan Advirsory Board 1987-91, DEP Citizen's Advisory Council 1990-02, River's Advisory Committee 1989-92 and the Housatonic Fly Fisherman's Assoc. where he was a founding member. He was an avid fly fisherman. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Mon., Nov 18 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full mititary honors at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sun. 3 - 7 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Maine Wilderness Watershed Trust, PO Box 5660, Augusta, ME 04332.

  1. I served for many years with Ed on the DEP citizens advisory council. I represented the Ct. Trappers Assoc. and Ed always strongly supported us and our issue. We both shared a love of fly fishing.He was a man of strong convctions , a man you always wanted on your side. My condolences to his family. I shall miss him. Sincerely, Tip Garritt

  3. To the Kluck Family, My heartfelt condolences. Ed will be dearly missed by all of us at D.E.P. Western District Inland Fisheries. He was a true gentleman. His warmth and smile had a way of making everyone feel like they were a longstanding friend.
