In Branford, November 5, 2004, Edward J. Acker, of 76 Front Ave. West Haven, husband of Mildred ''Mickey'' Quinn Acker. Father of Joanne Delillo and Nancy Acker, David and wife Marcia Acker, and Donald Acker all of West Haven, Timothy and wife Cheryl Acker of North Haven and John and wife Lisa Acker of Northford. Brother of Alice Giamattei of Hamden, Betty and husband John Rossetti of East Haven, Albert and wife Eileen Acker of Wallingford and stepbrother of John DelVasto of West Haven. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister, Blanche Selby. Mr Acker was born in West Haven, August 23, 1924, son of the late Albert and Evelyn Hart Acker. He was a maintenance worker for Railroad Salvage of West Haven and prior to that worked for the former Armstrong Rubber Co. Mr Acker served in the U.S. Navy durning WWII, and was a life long resident of West Haven. Funeral service Tues., Nov. 9 at 10:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave,, at Court St, West Haven. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405, or to St. Paul's Church 41 Alling St., West Haven, 06516.
