Eistan Ace' Nordstrom

Eistan 'Ace' Nordstrom, 91, of New Haven, CT passed away peacefully on April 14, 2018 at his home. Eistan was the son of the late Karin 'Carrie' and Paul Nordstrom. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Grace Sawicki, formerly of New Haven, and his cousin Sonia Houde, formerly of Hamden. He was born on May 1, 1926 in New Haven. After graduating high school, Ace served in the U.S. Navy in Japan during World War II. He worked as an electrician at Pratt and Whitney in North Haven. He was an active, lifetime member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in his neighborhood of Fair Haven Heights. He was a lifetime Mason, a member of Corinthian Lodge No. 63 in North Haven. Eistan had a great love of nature, gardening, bird watching, nature photography, hiking and camping. His infectious smile, sense of humor, and kind, optimistic spirit will be missed by his many friends, neighbors and fellow parishioners. A funeral service is to be held on Thursday, April 19 at 10:30 a.m. in Pilgrim Congregational Church, 65 East Grand Ave., New Haven followed by burial at Fair Haven Union Cemetery, New Haven. Arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
