Eleanor L. Hoff Oberempt, age 83, of Wallingford, passed away on January 21, 2016 at her home. Eleanor was the widow of Eugene C. Oberempt. Born on August 28, 1932 in Meriden and resident there most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Albert & Augusta (Wilk) Hoff. Eleanor is survived by her daughter Allison J. Sherrill & her husband Stephen of Hampstead, NC; sisters Lydia Ceritto of Meriden, Dorothy Jarboe of Dayville and Ruth Oros of Wallingford; brother Howard Hoff of Cape Coral, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Albert Hoff. Eleanor was a member of the Emblem Club of Meriden, the Nile Sphinx Ladies and the Sphinx Widows Club. She retired from the former Jeneric Pentron Company as a Senior Vice-President of Administration. Eleanor much enjoyed playing golf and her volunteer work at the Masonic Home and Hospital in her recent years. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT - FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Meriden. In lieu of flowers contributions in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Rd, Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the Sphinx Temple Shriners, 3066 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, CT 06111.
