Eleanor Marguerite Smith Buck
Eleanor Marguerite Smith Buck, age 89, of Magee Dr., Hamden, passed away March 24, 2009. Eleanor was predeceased by her loving husband Carl E. Buck last year. Born on Sept. 10, 1919 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Daniel and Ada Palmer Smith. Eleanor is survived by her four daughters; Carol Chirico-Lee of Hamden, Ingrid and her husband Vito Grasso of Grand Blanc, MI, Joyce and her husband Lou Cervone of Shelton and Mary Ellen Onore of Mayville, NY; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She has been a resident of Hamden for the past 26 years, moving from Bridgeport. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and kniting for her family, she was an avid reader and took pleasure working on many crossword puzzles. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11 AM in Christ Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave, Hamden. Interment will take place privately. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
I work with Jenifer, Eleanor’s granddaugher. I am so sorry for your loss. I know from Jenifer what a special lady she was and how she touched so many lives. I will keep Eleanor and her extended family in my prayers. Regards, Tara Petta
