Elena Gonzalez Alonso, 96, loving wife of the late Luis Alonso, passed away on December 14, 2020 at her home in Meriden. Born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba on August 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Bartolome and Dominga Carid Gonzalez, she is survived by her daughter Maria Sullivan and her husband Paul, son Angel Alonso and his partner Ruben Garcia, grandchildren; Robert, Alexander, and David Martinez, and great-grandchildren; Brianna, Eli, Norah, Gabriella, and Benjamin Martinez. Elena’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Sandra Martinez and Eureka Dominguez for the special care they showed Elena before her passing.

A graveside service will be held on Friday December 18 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane. Meriden. Friends are invited to meet at the cemetery office at 9:45 a.m. Masks and all other social distancing requirements will be observed. Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home of Meriden is assisting with arrangements.
