Elizabeth Acevedo, 60, of Meriden, loving wife of Jorge Acevedo, passed away on January 11, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 13, 1961, a daughter of the late Octavio and Carmen Cruz-Pagan. She is survived by her children; Janet Acevedo, Elizabeth Acevedo-Torres and her husband William, Jorge Acevedo, Jr. and his wife Carmen, the grandchildren whom she raised; Adriana Acevedo and Ashley Rodriguez, many brothers and sisters, and 16 more grandchildren. Elizabeth was a devoted wife to Jorge Acevedo for over 40 years. She was a caring mother and grandmother, and was an inspiration to all that knew her. We will miss all the pranks, jokes, her beautiful sense of humor, and that one of kind laugh that would make your hardest of days that much brighter.
Friends are invited to visit with Elizabeth’s family on Saturday, January 15th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A service celebrating her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing practices will be observed. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family.   5. I’m in shock to now hear of the passing of Elizabeth in 2022.. I am so sorry its a year later.. I wanted to express my condolences to Jorgie and the family.. Elizabeth was like family to my 2 children as she was my babysitter for both of them.. First my son then 6 years later I tracked her down to babysit my daughter..If I didn’t tell you enough Elizabeth THANK YOU for treating my children as your own up to this day.. my 29 yr old daughter refers to you and your husband as NANA & PAPI JORGIE.. the love you gave my children as their babysitter is undescribable, .. I am so sorry we lost touch these last few years. You were definitely an angel here on earth, and I know you have earned your wings. Fly free my friend.
