Elizabeth Manske Vecchitto, 89, of Elim Park, Cheshire, CT, formerly of Meriden, died January 17, 2012 at Mid-State Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Salvatore L. Vecchitto. Born in Meriden, September 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Manske. She had worked as an administrative assistant and was an officer of The H. Wales Lines Construction Co., Meriden, until her retirement in 1983. Following her retirement, she worked for seven years as a part-time secretary at Miller Memorial Community, Meriden. Following the passing of her husband in 1998, she moved to the apartments at Elim Park in Cheshire, where she lived a great life and was very much loved by everyone- residents and staff alike. For as long as she was able, she volunteered wherever she was needed, putting all of her heart and energy into her volunteer work. During the past several years, she lived in the Elim Park Health Care Center, where she received wonderful care and continued to enjoy life despite her disabilities. The family is also grateful for the excellent care she received from the physicians and nursing staff at MidState Medical Center before her passing. She is survived by a daughter, Jan Pucci of Wallingford; a son, Wayne Vecchitto and his wife Judy of Clearwater, FL; three granddaughters, Danielle Pucci and her husband Michael Boezi of Boston, MA.; Toni and Paige Vecchitto of Florida, two grandsons, Wayne Vecchitto, Jr. and Chance Vecchitto of FLorida. six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Manske. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. in Nelson Hall at Elim Park Place, 140 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Resident's Fund at Elim Park Place, 140 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, CT 06410, or to charity of one's choice.
