In Wallingford, Jan. 20, 2004, Elizabeth Schirmer Blennerhassett., wife of the late John Lycett Blennerhassett, formerly of Orange, CT and St. Petersburg, FL. She was born in North Bergen, NJ, Nov. 24, 1913, a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Sophie Martin Schirmer. She worked for many years as a Dietitian in the Orange Public Schools. Mrs. Blennerhassett was a 50 year member of Mystic Chapter # 20 Order of the Eastern Star and she had volunteered over 1000 hours at the Masonic Home. She is survived by daughters: Marilyn McHenry of New Port Richey, FL, Ruth Eren of Woodbury, CT and Susan Sweeney of Farmington, CT, a son, John L. Blennerhassett, Jr. of New Port Richey, FL, sisters:, Helen Holywood of Sun City West, Az and Martha Bergus of Duarte,CA. Also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 680 Racebrook Rd., Orange, Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at 10 a.m. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 CAMPBELL AVE., WEST HAVEN, Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the John and Elizabeth Blennerhassett Scholarship Fund, Charter Oak State College, 55 Paul Manafort Dr., New Britain, CT 06053.
