Elliott 'Bud' William Weston

MERIDEN - Elliott William ''Bud'' Weston, 85, of Miller Avenue, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth Freitag Weston. He was born in Meriden, March 13, 1916, the son of the late John and Emily Beal Weston. His work career extended over four decades at MRM Industries, a part of Insilco Corp., from 1938 to 1980. He retired as Personnel Manager and Safety Director and was instrumental in implementing safety policies to reduce industrial accidents. Over his lifetime he had a variety of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed skiing and camping and was past president of the Meriden Ski Club and Airstream Club. He was a member of Meridian Lodge #77 AF & AM of Meriden and he loved gardening and farming. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Edward DeCantillon of Wallingford and Heather and James Belcourt of Meriden; two sons and their wives, Douglas and Carole Weston of Stratford and Keith and Marjorie Weston of Durham, New Hampshire; a sister, Edna Sallie of Foxboro, Massachusetts; thirteen grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hubbard Chapel in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Somody and the Rev. Robert Salafia will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
