Ernest M. Barnes, 82 of West Haven, loving husband of Beverly Guyette Barnes, passed away Wed., June 11, 2014 at CT Hospice in Branford, He was the proud father of Steven and his wife Sandra Barnes of West Haven, Robert and his wife Michelle Barnes of West Haven, and Gregory and his wife Michele Barnes of Bridgeport, and devoted brother of Georgianna McCurry, Patricia Robinson, Chris DeRose, and Kenneth, Charles, Merritt, and Roger Barnes. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Nancy Moore, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Ernest M. Barnes, Jr. Ernest was born in New Haven Oct. 30, 1931, a son of the late Merritt and Georgianna Ludington Barnes. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea. He had worked as a mechanic for Capital Tire, was a member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven, the West Haven Elks, the Polish American Club and the Waucoma Yacht Club in Fair Haven. He was also an avid boater who loved to fish and cheer on his Miami Dolphins. Friends may visit with his family on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., at Court St., West Haven. Funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. Contributions in his memory may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.

To my dearest Friend Bev,I am so sorry to hear about Bud.I wish I could be there for you,Just to Hug you and hold your hand.Like you and Bud did for me,I will keep my oven puller he made so I dont get burn.Leave it to him to invent something that could of made it Big! I will cherish all the great momories and laughs and some serious talks we all had.I Love you Bev and I Loved Bud too.He will be missed.Hes with all the Angles now watching down on you and the Kids.
