Estelle Miehle

Estelle Marie Wilkinson Miehle, widow of the late Walter F. Miehle, died February 16, 2016 at Masonicare of Wallingford at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late William and Marie Hummel Wilkinson of Seymour, CT, and the mother of Lynn Marie Miehle Krenzel, who predeceased her in August of 1999. Mrs. Miehle was the sister of the late William G. Wilkinson and his wife Madeline Wilkinson who resides in Wallingford. Aunt of William E. Wilkinson of White River Junction, VT, Jeffrey A. Wilkinson of Enfield, NH, and the late Randolf G. Wilkinson, and their families. Mrs. Miehle lived in Seymour, Orange, and Bethany before moving to South Chatham, MA in 1980. She returned to CT in September of 2002 to reside at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. She was a graduate of Seymour High School in 1938 and of Bryant College, Providence RI in 1942. Over the years she was employed at Risdon Manufacturing of Naugatuck; Better Packages Inc. of Shelton; and the Crippled Children's Aid of New Haven. After the death of her husband in 1960, she was employed by Yale University for twenty years; first at the Yale School of Art and Architecture and then at the Yale University Art Gallery, as busniness manager in both, ten years each. Mrs. Miehle was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford. She was always an ambitious volunteer at her church, hospital aid groups, Council of Aging of Chatham MA, and others wherever she lived and gave generously of her time and talents through the years. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford Saturday March 5, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery.
