Esther R. Schott
MERIDEN - Esther R. Schott, 82, of 320 Colony St., died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at the Bradley Home. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Schott. Born in Owl's Head, Maine on August 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Cora Harrington Rackliff. She was a graduate of Larson Junior College which is now Quinnipiac University. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford and was a member since l948 of St. John Lutheran Church. She is survived by three nieces, Pamela Rackliffe, Deborah Fisher and Jennifer Walker all of Branford; a nephew, Robert Rackliff of Madison; eight greatnieces and nephews, Ian Engelman, Bevin Engelward, Quinn Walker, Summer Walker, Jesse Rackliff, Carrie Rackliff, Austin Fisher and Tasia Fisher and their families and a sister-in-law, Alice Rackliff of Branford. Funeral service Sat., March 20, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. The Rev. David R. Brinkley will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Esther is a caring, always cheerful person who delighted her colleagues at Choate with her observations and little stories about life and her surroundings. Great conversationalist,equally great crossword puzzle and UConn Basketball fan. I shall miss her.
Esther was a kind and thoughtful friend. I will miss her always ready smile.
Esther was a life long family friend for well over 50 years. She loved life. She was an advid reader, loved to play and in later years watch golf. She also loved to do crossword puzzles and play bridge. When you talked with Esther you knew you had her undivided attention. She was a great listener. jShe was a loving, caring, thoughtful person with a heart of gold. Our family will miss her greatly.
Esther was an amazing woman. She will be missed by all.
I worked with Esther when I first came to Choate in 1982. She was a wonderful, caring lady. She will be missed.
