Ethel Warner Giering Foy
In Branford, May 22, 2004, Ethel Warner Giering Foy of Arden Courts, 153 Leeder Hill Dr., formerly of High Ridge Rd., Hamden. Wife of the late George Giering and Frank Foy, loving mother of George Giering and his wife, Geraldine of Woodbridge, Linda King and her husband, Jeffrey of Cheshire, Noreen Endriss and her husband, Ted of Hamden and Elizabeth Ross and her husband, Kevin of Cheshire, devoted sister of Richard Warner and his wife, Jean of Woodbridge, cherished grandmother of Kimberly, Amy, Sarah,Kathleen, Theodore, George, Timothy, Jeffrey, Emilee, Lara and James and her adored great-grandchildren, Alexander and Stephen. Ethel was predeceased by sisters, Vella Corey, Myrtle Corey, Edna Blanchard and brothers, Leroy and Milton Warner. She was born in Hamden, Jan. 3, 1914, daughter of the late Everett and Jennie Warner and was a life long resident of Hamden. She was employed by the Barker Typewriter Service, New Haven County Farm Bureau and was Co-founder with her late husband of the Giering Metal Finishing Co. of Hamden where she was corporation secretary. She was a charter member of the Dunbar United Church of Christ, the United Church Women's Fellowship and the Dunbar Community Club. Funeral service Wednesday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dunbar United Church of Christ, Hamden. I will always have fond memories of Aunt Ethel. She was a great sister to my grandmother and very sweet to my mother. I will miss her.
