Eugene Edward Berlepsch

Eugene Edward Berlepsch, 88, of Hamden, passed away at his home on June 9, 2013. He was born in Hamden on February 10, 1925 to the late Joseph and Frances Bequet Berlepsch. Eugene is remembered by his loving wife of 68 years, Lorraine Koller Berlepsch; daughters, Jane Berzan and her husband Jonathan of Falls Church, VA, & Joan Berlepsch of North Haven; son, Gene (Skip) Berlepsch and his wife Barbara of Orange; daughters-in-law, Priscilla Berlepsch of Hamden & Holly Berlepsch of Northford; grandchildren, Justin Berlepsch and his wife Danielle, Kimberly, Megan, Brian, Eric, & Katie Berlepsch; great-grandson, Peyton Berlepsch. Predeceaded by two sons, Paul & Brian Berlepsch; brother, Joseph Berlepsch; sister, Alberta Bassett. A lifelong resident of Hamden, Eugene was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Oak Lane Country Club for over 25 years and was a longtime parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church. Years ago Eugene and his wife spent many happy winters at their Florida home. He was the owner of Chapel Wine in New Haven for many years. The Red Sox and Patriots were his favorite teams to follow and he was an avid Golfer. Eugene was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend: he will be missed by everyone who knew him. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Tuesday, June 11th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friends are then invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joan of Arc Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors to follow.
