Eva Fernandez
MERIDEN-Eva Fernandez, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2017 at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of the late Elio Fernandez. Eva was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on May 28, 1930 daughter of the late Otilio and Maria Estrada Rodriguez. Eva grew up in Puerto Rico before coming to the United States. She has lived in Meriden for the past 20 years and was a very active member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden. As a resident of Meriden she was actively involved in the community most recently volunteering her time at MidState Medical Center as an advocate for cancer survivors. Eva is survived by her children Diana Bosch and her husband Angel of Pearland, TX, Zaida Molina and her husband Hector of Meriden, and Edwin Ramirez of Cayey, Puerto Rico; grandchildren Hector and Lauren Molina, Rafael and Giovanni Bosch, and Michelle Mass; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Roberto and Otilio Rodriguez, and Ana Maria Matos. Eva’s funeral services will begin on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 9:00 AM at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Meriden. Burial will take place in Puerto Rico at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Eva’s family on Monday, July 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorial donations in Eva’s name may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden, CT 06450.
MERIDEN-Eva Fernandez, de 87 anos, fallecio pacificamente rodeada de familiares el 20 de julio de 2017 en el Centro de Cuidado Medico Coccomo Memorial en Meriden. Era la amada esposa de Elio Fernandez. Eva nacio en Caguas, Puerto Rico el 28 de mayo de 1930 hija del difunto Otilio y Maria Estrada Rodriguez. Eva crecio en Puerto Rico antes de venir a los Estados Unidos. Ella ha vivido en Meriden durante los ultimos 20 anos y era un miembro muy activo de la Iglesia de Santa Rosa de Lima en Meriden. Como residente de Meriden, participo activamente en la comunidad recientemente como voluntaria en MidState Medical Center como abogada de sobrevivientes de cancer. A Eva le sobreviven sus hijos Diana Bosch y su esposo Angel de Pearland, TX, Zaida Molina y su esposo Hector de Meriden, y Edwin Ramirez de Cayey, Puerto Rico; Nietos Hector y Lauren Molina, Rafael y Giovanni Bosch, y Misa Michelle; Y siete bisnietos. Tambien le sobreviven sus hermanos Roberto y Otilio Rodriguez, y Ana Maria Matos. Los servicios funerarios de Eva comenzaran el martes, 25 de julio de 2017 a las 9:00 AM en la funeraria Beecher & Bennett-Flatow, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden seguido de una misa de entierro cristiano celebrada a las 10:00 AM en St. Rose of Iglesia de Lima, Meriden. El entierro tendra lugar en Puerto Rico en una fecha posterior. Los parientes y amigos estan invitados a visitar a la familia de Eva el lunes 24 de julio de 6:00 a 8:00 PM en la funeraria.
