Evelyn P. Stanton, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 21, 2017 at the Masonic Home after a long illness. Born in Meriden on April 22, 1942; a daughter of the late Raymond Peichert, Martha Breitenbach Schnick, and Clarence Schnick. Beloved wife of 31 years to Edward Stanton of Meriden. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Meriden and parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was an administrative assistant at All Saints Episcopal Church and retired from Valenti Chevrolet in Wallingford. During her free time Evelyn enjoyed shopping, cooking, and most importantly, time spent on the beach in Rhode Island. Family was very special to her and the more time spent together, the better. Evelyn will be remembered by her children, Heather (Michael) Sokolowski of Meriden, Michael Lally of New Haven, Amy Stanton of Brainfield, MA, David (Christine) Stanton of Hamilton, OH, Wendy Stanton of Butler, NJ; sister, Janet Peichert (Roger Svensk) of New Britain; and grandson, Dylan Lally. Evelyn’s family would like to thank the staff at Midstate Medical Center, and the Masonic Home on Ramage 2 and Masonic Hospice, for their wonderful care of not just Evelyn, but her entire family. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden on Wednesday, May 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. On Thursday, all are welcome to her Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., followed by a burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
