Evelyn S. Raby

Evelyn S. McKnight Raby Edvelyn S. Raby, 93, formerly of 61 Sunbright Drive North, Meriden, died Feb. 27, 2002 at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center, she was the wife of the late Omer Raby. She was born in Birmingham, England, Jan. 2, 1909, a daughter of the late Ernest and May Howard Swatkins. She worked for many years at Pratt & Whitney in North Haven and was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Meriden South Congregation. She is survived by a son, Donald E. McKnight, Sr. and his wife, Jane B. McKnight of Meriden, a grandson, Donald E. McKnight, Jr. of Meriden, two adopted grandchildren, Jeffrey P. McKnight and Lisa A. McKnight, two sisters, Ada McMahon of New Jersey and Olive Weitzel of Meriden, a brother, Howard Swatkins of Wallingford and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Edward McKnight. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2002. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
