Evelyn Spooner Marcellino

Evelyn (Spooner) Marcellino, 92, wife of the late Jessimio Marcellino, was called to her eternal home on Friday, January 15, 2016. Born in Houlton, Maine, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Frank Hartford and Emma (Brewer) Spooner. She came to Meriden in 1943 when she married Jess. For more than 50 years, they lived on the family farm, where they raised their five children and had an open door for family and friends who needed a place to stay. Evelyn's life was a gift to all of us. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman, whose kind heart, generous spirit and deep faith impacted the lives of others. Blessed to have shared Evelyn's life are her sisters, Vera Eggert and Ruby Spielman of Clinton; her children, Dan and Brenda Marcellino of Greenback, TN, Jerry and Chris Marcellino of Torrington, Susan Marcellino of Meriden, Carl and Cindy Marcellino of Inverness, FL and Rebekah and Dan O'Bryan of Meriden. Evelyn was the most devoted grandmother, whose love enriched the lives of her grandchildren, Courtney, Jody, Jeff, Tara and Jerry, Cami and Rob, Jess and Dan, Rachael and Chip. She also had seven great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Daniel, Tyler, Jordan, Marisia, Mia, Isaiah and Kinsley. Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers Rusty and Earl Spooner, her sister Mary Foley and her grandson, Jeff Marcellino. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT - FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. There are no calling hours and burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Family Christian Worship Center, 53 Coe Avenue in Meriden.
