F.W. Annelize Doornweerd

F.W. Annelize Doornweerd, 92, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Village at Kensington Place, Meriden. She was predeceased by her husband Jozef G. Doornweerd. Anne was born in Sragen, Indonesia on January 26, 1926, a daughter of late Jean G. & Friderike L. Zillich Haye. She is survived by her sister, Emee Haije of Holland; her sons, Marcel Doornweerd & friend Margot Verstegen of Holland, and Anthony & his wife Elizabeth Doornweerd of Meriden; four grandchildren, Todd & Jeffrey Doornweerd, Megan Tunderman, and Jori Velthoven, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Hendrik Marinus Haye and Leonard Hugo Haye. Anne lived a life rich in experiences, having resided in various places over four continents. She was a loving mom, wife, and Omi devoted to taking care of her family. She enjoyed time spent in her yard, where she drew many pictures of family and their activities. Her family will remember vacations spent in Virginia Beach with fun in the sun, followed by lazy afternoons and Omi's delicious meals. We will always keep her in our memories. Anne's family would like to thank all of the staff at the assisted living facility of the Village at Kensington for caring for Anne for the last eight years. Friends are invited to visit with her family on July 12th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, followed by a Memorial Service celebrating Anne's life at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
