Florence Leeds Olsson

OLSSON, FLORENCE L. In Wallingford, July 24, 2004, Florence Leeds Olsson of 40 Ashlar Village. Wife of the late Emil G. Olsson, Jr. Born in Denver, CO on March 11, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Blanche Crystal Leeds. A graduate of the St. Raphael Hospital School of Nursing, she received a Bachelor's degree from Columbia University and a Masters degree from Yale University. Florence was a school nurse in the East Haven Public Schools until 1959, when she became the School Nursing Supervisor for the Hamden School system, retiring in 1979. Florence and her husband Emil were active members of Bethesda Lutheran Church and were one of the first residents to move into Ashlar Village in 1985. She is survived by her husbands' nieces, Carolyn Verrilli of East Granby and Jean LaFratta of Meriden and a Goddaughter, Alex Steadman. A Memorial Service will be held in The Activity Room at Ashlar Village on Tuesday, August 3rd, at 3 P.M. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O.
