In Milford Hospital, June 24, 2003, Florence M. Roberts, 104, of 336 Drummond Rd., Orange. Miss Roberts was born in New Haven, May 14, 1899, daughter of the late Charles & Belle Pearl Roberts. She was a School teacher for the West Haven Board of Education. Miss Roberts began her teaching career in 1922 at the former State Street School, Hamden until 1925. She then taught at the Clarence Thompson School in West Haven until 1963. She was a graduate of Bradford College, Bradford, MA and a member of the First Congregnational Church, West Haven, the Eve Lear Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the New Haven Colony of New England Women and a member of the Kalmathean Club. She was predeceased by a sister, Pearl Roberts Gates and a brother, Russell C. Roberts. Funeral Service at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven, Monday afternoon July 28th at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.
