Frances Wantrobski, age 88, of Hamden, CT passed away on July 7, 2011 at Masonic Hospice in Wallingford. Frances was born in Rutland, VT on August 17, 1922, the daughter of the late John & Lottie Foltin. Raised in New Jersey, she moved to Connecticut in 1991 and lived in Beacon Falls before moving to Hamden. She was the widow of Stanley Jackowski and John Wantrobski. Frances is survived by her daughter & son in-law Pat (Sikora) & Larry Panza of Hamden; her son & daughter in-law Stanley & Barbara Jackowski of Key West, FL; grandchildren Sheryl Pause, Stash Jackowski, Jill Sikora, Jason, Brett & Nicholas Jackowski; great grandchildren Nessa, Stash, Tiago and Lila; and brothers Edward Foltin of FL & Joseph Foltin of MI. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Foltin. After Frances retired from Johnson & Johnson, she became a teacher's aid. She enjoyed volunteering at Swim Across the Sound, the Derby Historical Society and St. Michael's Church. She was an avid reader, UCONN basketball and New York Yankee fan. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting and gardening. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Monday, July 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday by St. Rita Church in the Funeral Home. Her interment in New Jersey will be held Tuesday.
