Francis P. Murphy
Hamden - Francis "Frank" P. Murphy, 82, of Robinwood Dr., husband of the late Elizabeth Carr Murphy passed away Aug. 21, 2006 after an extended illness. Mr. Murphy was born in New Haven, June 24, 1924 a son of the late John C. and Delia Murphy and served in the US Army Co. B 503rd Military Battalion with General George Patton in Germany and France during WW II. He was employed by the Pillsbury Co. for 43 years and was an account manager for the New England Region when he retired in 1983. His memberships include the Knights of St. Patrick, Hamden Elks Lodge #2224, Hamden American Legion Post #88 and he was a parishioner of St. Stephen's Church in Hamden. Mr. Murphy is survived by his son, Robert F. Murphy of Hamden, a sister, Theresa McConnell and her husband, John of Rockaway Park, NY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a son, Paul D. Murphy, 2 sisters, Mary Murphy and Margaret O'Leary and 2 brothers, John C. and Joseph D. Murphy. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Wed., Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen Church at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call Wed. from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden.
My condolences go out to Son Paul and all Franks family. I spent many days with Frank working and socializing. I worked for Tetley Tea for 38 years. We had many enjoyable times together.
