Frederico Isaac Beck, 88, of Hamden, husband of the late Laura Edwards Beck passed away May 31, 2007 after a brief illness. Mr. Beck was born in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, April 13, 1919 a son of the late Leopold and Angelina Ross Beck, and served in the US Army during WW II in Northern France. He was employed as an overhead crane operator for over 30 years at the Farrell Corp. of Ansonia, a toll collector in Branford, a school bus driver, and later a school crossing guard in New Haven. Frederico was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and of the Men's Club. He enjoyed attending the Clelian Center and was known as the "official photographer". Mr. Beck also played an intricate part in the developement of the Walter Pop Smith Little League of New Haven. He is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Angela (Curtiss) Anderson of Bloomfield, CT, Carol (Sid) Jones of New Haven, 4 sons and their wives, Frank (Evelyn) Beck of Hamden, Raymond (Jaye) Beck of Wilmington, DE, Charles Beck of Boston, MA, Kevin Charles Beck of Hamden, 10 grandchildren: Scott, Jarrad, Shawn, Myles, Leron, Quinton, Kyle, Lemar, Ashley, Sharnique, 5 great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Myles II, Makhai, Chanel (Coco), and Jonelle. Mr. Beck is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son Kevin James Beck, and a sister Zaida Reed. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, New Haven. Friends may call at Church Tuesday morning from 9:30-11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
