Gail Hawley, 75, of New Haven, CT, born February 7, 1943 to the late Frank and Blanche Johnson, passed away on April 11, 2018. Gail had retired from the US Postal Service as a clerk and also from the Highwood Cafe as a barmaid. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind her four children; her son, William Lathrop Jr., daughters, Rhonda Lathrop, Laura (Wesley) Suttles, and Carla Lathrop, stepdaughter Talana Hawley, and her sister Muriel Curry, all of New Haven; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces & nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers; Ronald Johnson Sr. and Thomas Clare, and sisters; Jacqueline Clare, Ruth Johnson, and Carolyn Gill. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
