At his home, July 23, 2003, Gary B. Wood, 58, of 137 Franklin Rd., Hamden, husband of Frances Thompson. He was born in Torrington, CT, Oct. 7, 1944 a son of Frances Bate Wood of West Cornwall, CT and the late Warren Wood. He had worked in the Forestry Department for the State of Connecticut. He enjoyed the outdoors. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, John W. Wood of New York City, a sister, Judi Wood MacNeil of Cornwall Bridge, CT and a brother and sister-in-law, Warren ''Chip'' and Lynn Wood of Cornwall, CT, a niece, Caitlin MacNeil and a nephew, Justin MacNeil both of Cornwall Bridge. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that people commit a random act of kindness to a stranger in Gary's memory. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

  10. Gary will be deeply missed. He was always quick with a hello and some funny little comment. How often we chatted on our porches in the evenings during the summer. We know he is at peace now and Walter is showing him around heaven. Fran, our prayers are with you along with our love. You are a wonderful, loving person and a great neighbor.
