Gary Willard Simpson

Gary W. Simpson, age 63, of Ponce de Leon, Florida, passed away on August 19, 2012 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Gary was born on December 18, 1948 in Derby, CT a son of the late Arthur Simpson & Edith M. Weed Simpson-Bauer. He is survived by his daughter Marissa Fernandes of Groton; his sons, Michael Simpson & his wife Carin of North Haven and Jason Simpson & his wife Jeanmarie of Wallingford; his grandchildren Cheyenne & Hailey Simpson and his brother Terry Simpson of Hamden. Gary graduated from Eli Whitney Tech. in 1967. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. A carpenter by trade, he was employed by the Carpenters Union Local 24. He resided in East Haven and North Haven before moving to Florida in 2004. His funeral and burial will be held privately with his family. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Contributions in Gary's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854 or to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital, 20 York Street, New Haven, CT 06510.
