George S. Nash, 94, husband of Marion Sierzputowski Nash, passed away peacefully march 14, 2017 with his family by his side. One of the remaining members of the greatest generation, George enlisted in the USMC and served his country faithfully during WW II both on Iwo Jima and Okinowa. After the war, George returned home, settled into civilian life and met Marion his bride of 69 plus years on Valentines Day. He was gainfully employed for 43 years by the United Illuminating Co., rising through the ranks, retiring as head of meter security. George is survived by his sister Dorthea DeNicola of Branford. Father of George E. Nash and his wife Dr. Jane L. Waterman of Hyde Park, VT, grandfather of Ciree Nash, great grandfather of Elias Nash, Roscoe, Georgia & Jackson Conklin, step grandfather of Seth, Ben & Molly Hatfield. Father of Mark Nash and his wife Karen Nash of Hamden, grandfather of Corey J. Nash and his wife Jennifer H. Nash of Cheshire, great grandfather of Emily, Connor and Ian Nash, grandfather of Justin C. Nash and his wife Michelle Nash of Cheshire, great grandfather of Savannah, Logan, Morgan & Reese Nash, step great grandfather of Jak & Jami Procanik. Father of HollyAnn Nash Stowe and her husband William Stowe, grandfather of Cameron W. Stowe, Christine Stowe Dwelley and her husband Neal Dwelley, Lisa Stowe and Michael Stowe. Great grandfather of Sasha, Neal John Dwelley, Hannah Dwelley Davenport and her husband Drake Davenport, great great grandfather of Zoe Sephira Davenport. The family has been blessed for many years with a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed.
