MERIDEN - Georgina Roman, 89, of 30 Cricket Dr., died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001 at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of Santiago Roman. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Aug. 1, 1912, a daughter of the late Ignacio and Adolfina Ruiz Sanchez. She had been employed as a seamstress at Joseph Feldman Industries. Besides her husband, she is survived by two dauaghters, Carmen Creel and Consuelo Molina, both of Meriden; a son-in-law, Hector Molina, Sr. of Meriden; a sister, Vidalina Sanchez of Aguada, Puerto Rico; five grandchildren, Damaris Molina Torres, Carmen Molina Rios, Hector Molina, Jr., Richard W. Creel and Jazmin Molina all of Meriden; seven great-grandchildren, Hector Molina, Lauren Molina, Mya Rios, Gabriela Rios, Tessa Torres, Richard W. Creel, Jr. and Matthew Torres; and nieces and nephews in Puerto Rico She was predeceased by a brother, Luis A. Sanchez. The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden and at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Isaac Calichicco. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday (TODAY)from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family of Georgina Roman would like to express their gratitude for all of those who were by her bedside and held vigil with us during this difficult time.
